An afternoon in the mountains, a magnificent view of the Apennines, and a truly special astronomical event: on Wednesday, August 12th, we will set off from the Forca Canapine area to hike to one of the most beautiful vantage points between the Sibillini and Laga Mountains and observe the solar eclipse together.
📍 APPUNTAMENTO ORE 17:00 – ZONA FORCA CANAPINE
We’ll set off well before the eclipse, taking a simple walk suitable even for children accustomed to walking. We’ll have about an hour and a half to walk there, maintaining a leisurely pace and taking breaks along the way.
The goal is to reach the viewpoint with plenty of time to settle in and wait for the show to begin.
🌘 L’ECLISSI AL TRAMONTO
In our area, the solar eclipse will begin approximately around 7:30 PM, while the moment of maximum coverage will be around 8:13 PM.
The sun will now be very low on the horizon, and this very fact could give us, weather permitting, a spectacular view: the eclipse accompanied by the colors of the sunset, observed from above between the profiles of the Sibillini and Monti della Laga mountains.
After the observation, we’ll begin the return journey, which will take about 60 minutes of walking. Part of the return journey will be in low light, adding a touch of atmosphere to the experience.
🥾 ATTREZZATURA INCLUSA
Trekking poles will be provided free of charge to all participants.
