In the Sibillini Mountains, in the paths of Norcia and in the surrounding areas there are many areas. There are two main activities, those that start in the morning, in the cool weather and end at lunch time, and those that start in the evening and allow us to see both the nocturnal environments with the moonlight and a spectacular sunset ( weather permitting).
The choice is yours: fresh, crystalline mornings with a warm sun or nocturnal environments with the charm of lights?
Norcia is a place full of activities and… if there is snow what can you do? But it’s obvious! You can snowshoe on the snow even in January 2025… where? But it’s simple: in Castelluccio di Norcia and the surrounding areas.
WALK SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE, about 5 km on snow, about 200 meters of altitude difference, possibility of having lunch after the excursion in a restaurant that will be waiting for us open!
Standard program for the morning: we leave at 9am from Norcia, at 10am we are all on snowshoes and at around 2pm we are at the restaurant (but remember to see the times of the individual excursion, sometimes they are brought forward and sometimes postponed)
Program for the afternoon: we leave at 3pm from Castelluccio di Norcia, we get ready (snowshoes, poles and everything else) and around 6.30-7pm we return to the town, with a night walk!
As I always say: let’s go calmly, no one is chasing us! 😉
Where can you snowshoe? When can you snowshoe?
At this moment there is no snow but hopefully from the epiphany there will be snow. If you want to book your snowshoeing and then there is no snow you can ask to move the date or convert the day into an excursion!
Snow fell for a few days in mid-December 2024 but then constant good weather arrived and at this moment the Sibillini Mountains National Park is a perfect place to walk while waiting for the snow!
But if you can’t attend in January, don’t worry on the dates visible below! I also organize excursions and snowshoeing for 1-2 people, even on weekdays.
How much does it cost? Very little for an excursion tailor-made for you: 15 euros for children up to 12 years old, 20 euros for everyone else. The cost does not include the rental of snowshoes which are given at 5 euros per pair (rental only with reservation of the excursion, I do not rent snowshoes alone). The cost includes the AIGAE Guide for the entire duration of the excursion, as well as pre and post excursion support!

25 Euro per gli adulti (incluso noleggio ciaspole)
20 Euros for children up to 12 years (including snowshoe rental)
Trekking poles are always included, even for excursions without snowshoes.

Below is some general information for excursions.
Equipment and materials necessary to carry out the activities
Each participant must have at least one liter of water with them
We will all have to wear trekking boots, much of the route runs along the white path and in some places it is possible to find muddy areas. If it is winter it is best that they are high shoes with ankle coverage. It is not possible to take the walk with trainers/tennis/sneakers.
Also necessary for variable situations (for all daytime excursions, even in winter with snowshoes): sunglasses, hat and windbreaker suitable for rain.
In winter it is normal to have long trousers, but even in summer it is good to use long trousers because, in the most impervious parts of the route, we can encounter tall grass and having long trousers will allow us to better protect our legs also from possible thorns or insects.
From May to September included, always bring a sunscreen with you to prevent sunburn.
To better remember the day, a good camera to immortalize the environment around us is highly recommended.
