Every year, between early June and mid-July, the Umbrian plateau is transformed into a living palette thanks to the famous flowering of cultivated fields, a unique natural event that attracts travelers, photographers and nature lovers from all over the world.
An explosion of colors at 1452 meters
What makes the Castelluccio plain special is its balance between agriculture and landscape. Here, farmers sow lentils, mustard, poppies, cornflowers and other wild flowers every year, which bloom together in an explosion of colors: from purple to yellow, from red to white.
There is no exact time, because flowering depends on the climate, but generally the show is at its peak between the second half of June and the first half of July.
